In most cases your pet will be positioned on a comfortable blanket on the technicians lap with plenty of support to make her or him feel comfortable. This way there is easy access and visibility to every area of your pet’s mouth.
After easing the pet into this position, the technician skillfully introduces the necessary hygiene instruments, and applies a variety of hand holds to navigate the cleaning process. Gently and meticulously all tooth surfaces are cleaned.
We use hand instruments similar to those used in a hygienist’s office. For each visit all tools are thoroughly sterilized, and all surfaces wiped with an antiseptic agent to ensure a clean and safe environment.
Once the scaling process (removal of tartar and plaque) is finished, our practitioners polish all tooth surfaces. Our choice of polishing paste is free of fluoride and xylitol as well as other unnecessary additives.

Verbal communication is done calmly and assertively using a tone appropriate to the situation. We interact with your pet through assured, comfortable handling while respecting your pet’s boundaries and space.
Although most dogs and cats are candidates for teeth cleaning, for some this method of cleaning is not suitable.
At Pearly Whites For Pets we prefer to work with your pet alone. Without the guardians present, we find it easier for our four-legged clients to relax, settle down, and put their focus on the technician. Nevertheless, we respect unique circumstances and if you feel that your presence will positively impact your pet during the cleaning, please discuss it with us.
This is the first initial visit with Pearly Whites For Pets. Not only does this book your pet in for a full teeth cleaning, but this option also includes a pre-appointment consultation as well. During this consultation, we will review our practices and procedures, and address any concerns you may have regarding your pet’s visit.
This visit option is also open for returning clients if we've seen you a while back.
Available for returning clients who have seen us during the last 6 months. Consequently, our 3Month, 2Month, and 1Month visits are available for clients previously visiting us within a few weeks.
If your puppy is not older than 16 months of age, feel free to book the Puppy Visit. It includes a full cleaning as well as a thorough evaluation of the mouth and a friendly conversation about your pup's 'teeth future'.

If you are not happy with the result, you will receive a full refund. If your pet has behavioural or dental complications we may not be able to do the cleaning in which case there will be no charge, and likely you will be asked to seek veterinary help. We will always work with you to explore options that are best suited to you and your pet.
We kindly ask that you be on time, and if possible, arrive a few minutes early to allow your dog a short walk. Please keep your dog on a leash and your cat in an appropriate carrier.

Being late or not showing creates inconvenience for other pet owners. We understand that situations arise when you may need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, therefore, as a courtesy, we request 24-hour prior notice for all cancellations.
Same-day cancellations and no-shows are subject to a fee of 25% of your booked service.
During your pet’s teeth cleaning session, we require you to be available by phone or text message. At times we may need to inform you about the condition of your pet’s teeth and likewise need your input as to further actions. For this reason, please keep your phone at hand in case we need to contact you.
